Forget what you can't play

I went to the mini zoo in Brunei end of March this year with my dad and my sisters...
these are amongst some of the pictures i took before my cam corder's bat ran out.. i remembered the first time i went there, it was when i was maybe 5 yrs old or after.. but i was very young, i remember walking up the stairs to view the crocs below, and i walked up the same stairs that day as well.. the condition of the mini zoo was sad because the animals, are sheltered by each other's cage that no sun can come in.. some esp. the orangutan's cages was so far inside that as you go further inside all, it felt like it was close to 5pm, when it was sunny and brighter further infront.. it was during lunch time..
the orangutans *not my fav. animals* followed us from one end of their cage to the other, looking up and down on us and kept starring at us as we walked away.. one in particular did not stop looking.. i think that it hoped that we can take them out and return them to the wild.. but i will not say much about this issue.. all I know is that.. they do not look happy.. i know the people there are doing their best to keep the mini zoo intack.. but you cannot help but wonder.. what do these animals realy want?.. i watched too many animal documentaries that i cannot help but wonder if this is the right thing to do..
the original price of the ticket for an adult was Brunei$ 3.00, but another piece of paper was stucked on that price, that read $6.oo <-- clearly bussiness is not doing so well... i do wish that Brunei have its own zoo, but i also wish that more care should be given to these animals.. Brunei is not a country that cares a lot about exotic and rare animals much.. but i think there are a lot of animal lovers here.. Brunei needs to show the world that we care about animals too.. a lot of countries are working hard to preserve, protect animals almost in extinction.. since we only occupy 1% of the resources in Borneo Island, I am sure that we have our share of distinct n unique animals here too..
i have not visited forest reserves or anything like that here in Brunei as of yet, but i have seen brochures and stuffs on the introduction of Bruneian animals.. I would like to take a deeper look into this.. when it comes to the environment.. ppl talks about water and garbage.. but nobody really talks about animals.. people are not so aware of animals in Brunei i guess..
